Resin Powders & Inks


If you're looking for a way to make your artwork stand out, consider using resin powders and inks. These products can add new textures and colours to your work while giving it a sublime finish. 

Harry & Wilma’s collection of resin powders and inks come in a variety of different colours and styles. From glow-in-the-dark powders to alcohol-based inks, we’ve got something for everyone!

What kind of resin powders and inks are available? 

Mica powder

Mica powders are natural resins that have been milled into a fine powder. They can be used to add colour, shimmer and texture to your project and may also be utilised with epoxy, clay, wax or oils for a nice finish. 

This type of powder comes from a naturally occurring stone called mica that has a lovely shimmer to it. It’s great for when you want a pearly or metallic finish to your project. We recommend using these resin powders with clear or translucent epoxy to get the best outcome. Since they are completely natural, they can be used for makeup application too.  

While mica powder is effective at adding a bit of shimmer to your project, it won’t give you a bold, solid finish if that’s what you’re looking for. But don’t worry, we have plenty of products that will take care of that for you. 

Pigment powders

Right off the bat, you will notice that pigment powders are less shiny and have more of a chalky consistency than their mica counterparts. They are also used to colour art projects but have more of a matte effect. Powders help give your project an opaque colouring versus the tints of inks. 

Dye inks 

Alcohol-based resin dye inks are completely water soluble. They mix with the epoxy or water you add them to and provide a consistent tint or shade throughout. They are also used to give your piece a watery, marble-type effect.  

Pro-tips before application

To get the best outcome for your art project, it is important to remember that applying resin powders and inks requires different approaches. Here are a few tips before you get started: 

Resin powders

  • Since these powders easily mix with paint or epoxy, you want to put them in when the epoxy is still in liquid form
  • Use them with transparent or translucent shades of epoxy to fully showcase their matte or shimmery finish

Resin inks

  • Drip them onto wet resin for a marbled effect
  • Use them in moderation, as the alcohol inks make the epoxy soft 
  • Keep them away from fire hazards 

Which one do I pick, inks or powders? 

The great debate of our time. Inks vs powder. Which is better for arts and crafts? Well, there's no simple answer. It depends on your project, your materials, and your personal preference.

Inks are typically more colour-rich than powders, which means your project will have bolder and more vibrant colours. They're also easier to work with because they don't require any mixing - you can just open the bottle and start using them.

Powders offer a much wider range of colours than inks do, so if you're looking for something specific, chances are good that you'll be able to find it in powder form. They're also non-toxic, which is always a plus.

This is the first time l have used this tumbler resin, l really liked working with it. The consistency is thicker and the different colours and textures don’t mesh together like others do, mixes up lovely and smooth with very little bubbling. Love it

Plenty of room

Long & wide enough for a cuppa & a scone. Deep enough for me to put down a bottom sky blue layer, then a layer with pressed flowers and top of with two layers. I made my own handles from another mold. Turned out so pretty my brother said it was too girly for his birthday.
